On a cloudy, but humid day, Bruern Senior School visited Bruern Prep to play a T20 game versus a combined side of Upper and Lower Sixth cricketers. Captain Olly F won the toss and elected to bat first. The Bruern pitch looked sandy and hard so runs seemed to be the order of the day. Bruern started steadily but lost wickets at regular intervals. The score speeded up whilst Rafer S stood at the crease. Rafer S hit the ball hard and around all parts of the ground. However, on 24 he was brilliantly caught and bowled by Louis J. Bruern eventually posted a good score of 99.
A brilliant bowling spell from openers Rupert N and William B put the Senior school under pressure as they lost 3 quick wickets for very few runs. However, Joe B and Lucas G steadied the ship and chased the total down with Joe B scoring an excellent 62 not out.
It was a great game played in great spirits.
