Annual Beachborough U13 Cross Country
The weather was both merry and bright when we arrived at Beachborough for the annual Beachborough run. Our U13 team was made up of 5 hardy Lower Sixth boys who just about made it to the shoulders of many of their competitors on the start line. However, stature was not the key facet required on the muddy 4.2km course - it was steel and determination which these boys thankfully had in abundance. Out of the strong 80 pupil field our boys returned in 9th, 19th, 25th, 28th and 34th. Well done at all involved for a plucky team effort that saw them come 7th out of the schools attending and a particular well done to Narayan who came 9th and was awarded a top ten medal accordingly. All the boys will still qualify for re-entry next year so I think we have the beginnings of an excellent team over the next 18months.
