On Thursday afternoon, Bruern welcomed The Dragon to play in x2 junior doubles matches. This was a historic match as it was the first ever tennis fixture that Bruern had hosted.
Felix P and Zac V made up the 1st pair and had 2 very competitive matches against a strong opposition. Despite not playing a huge amount of tennis recently, both boys played some impressive points and showed a lot of potential.
The 2nd pair was actually made up of 3 boys, Eddie H, Blake J and Jack P. The boys rotated well and each one of these boys got the same amount of playing time on the courts. Again, there was a lot of talent on offer and Bruern gave it their best efforts. They all played with a smile on their faces and enjoyed themselves.
Unfortunately, at the end of the matches, Bruern came up just short and lost to a very gifted opposition.
Nevertheless, the boys were then all treated to a lovely match tea inside which seemed to disappear within minutes! Well done to all 5 boys who competed in Bruern's first ever home tennis fixture. Many thanks to Mr Overend who arranged the fixture. I'm looking forward to seeing this group of boys develop their skills over the next year. Great effort gents and have a lovely half term.
