Last week saw a plethora of shooting events take place to round off a busy penultimate week in the Bruern calendar. Firstly, the hotly contested house competition took place last Thursday afternoon in which a lot of boys shot the best that they have all year - well done to winning houses Wellington (seniors) and Nelson (juniors). Following this a group of 15 boys from both the seniors and juniors had a fantastic and sunny afternoon of competitive shooting against Summer Fields school which culminated in a very close and exciting Bruern win! After a narrow loss in a fixture against Summer Fields earlier in the year it was brilliant to get a chance to earn a win back. Archie R had a standout performance, scoring 19 out of a possible 24 shots and Leo W similarly scoring 18. Henry W, Oscar B and Arthur T from the juniors did brilliantly well too, scoring 13.
To top everything off, many boys and relatives gathered for a relaxed and very fun afternoon of shooting for the Amici Bruerni family shooting competition. It was excellent to see the boys cheering each other along and all competitors enjoying a well-spirited occasion. Well done to Ralph W and his brother Laurie, as well as Henry and Harry L on their winning scores!
We really look forward to seeing many of you again next year. Thank you to all that took part in all events!
