Football: Senior D/L6B v Abingdon Prep [A]

A “last minute” change of venue ensured this match took place - thanks to APS for making this happen. This match was changed from 9 to 11 aside to allow everyone to play. We did secretly think beforehand that APS would be the stronger side and sure enough they were. They have been playing together for much longer and that showed in their positional play, passing and general reading of the game. That is not to say Bruern did badly, the boys are still learning and playing together as a team takes time.

What did stand out was their improvement during the game – they listened and reacted to advice, which did improve their resistance to the well-organised APS team. The Bruern boys just need to remember what they have learnt and take it into the next match. So, it comes as no surprised that the APS U12 B team won comfortably, having said that, credit goes to the Bruern boys for restricting the result to 6-0.
