Lower Sixth A v The Oratory
The Lower Sixth A team produced a very impressive performance on what was their first game of 11-a-side football as a team. The opening stages were cagey, as Bruern got used to the size of the pitch and their opposition. But once comfortable, Bruern went on to play some very good football. The boys looked like they had played together all year, with watching parents impressed by their passing and teamwork. On numerous occasions they were able to pass it all the way out from a goal kick to create goal scoring opportunities
The goals came at regular intervals, with 2 being scored in each half. In truth, the score line could have been a lot higher, but the Oratory keeper was in fine form and made a number of good saves.
All the boys played fantastically well and impressed with their application and attitude. Man of the match could have been given to any of the 14 boys who played, but this week I am going to give the award to Teddy C-F. Not only did he score 2 goals, but he contributed well to the team and played with a smile on his face throughout.
Thank you to those parents who braved the cold to cheer the boys on. Next week's fixture is away against Christ Church Cathedral school who play at the picturesque Merton playing fields.
