Upper Sixth/Lower Sixth B Football v The Oratory
Our first game of the season was away at The Oratory. We took a team of 13 boys to play a triangular 5-a-side match between two Bruern teams and one Oratory team. The small pitch allowed us to focus on maintaining possession and passing the ball around to create space in a smaller area. Both Bruern teams beat The Oratory team and controlled both the games from the kick off. A fiercely competitive match followed with both Bruern teams playing against each other. The quality of football in this game was the best of the afternoon. Both teams were well organised, and the goalkeepers certainly took control from the back making sure their defenders were alert to stop attackers from the opposite team. Positive one touch attacking was being played in the middle of the pitch allowing both Bruern teams to come forward at pace and cause problems for their opposition.
Our game next Wednesday will be against Christ Church.
