The newly formed Senior B team with a strong mix of Upper and Lower Sixth boys took on Ashfold and Chesham at Ashfold on Wednesday.
With a group of players new to each other many were playing in slightly different positions to normal and everyone took on their new roles well.
The first game, against Ashfold, started well and Tom H linked up really well with Teddy C-F, Rudy S and Nate W repeatedly to create numerous chances. Theo T, Jago B and Ethan W-B worked really hard in midfield and passed the ball really well out wide and through the middle. Despite having the better of the play and Maxim H repelling any Ashfold shots the opposition snuck a late goal to win a game which Bruern ended up being very unlucky to lose.
The second game brought new challenges as a much bigger and more physical team stood on the other side of the pitch. Bruern continued their strong play from the first game; Anthony C passed the ball crisply forwards, Ben L ran hard throughout the game and the defensive squadron of triple Wills (Will W, Will S and Will B) and captain Henry D put in tackle after tackle and block after block. In the end Chesham ran out 2-0 winners in a game that was far more even than the scoreline suggested.
The boys did themselves proud in both effort and attitude and adapted really well to being in new teams.
