Football: Lower Sixth A v Sibford (A)

The Lower Sixth A put in another impressive performance this week, taking on a strong Sibford side. The match was played at a frenetic tempo early on as both teams looked to assert their dominance on the game. It was a very even affair, with both teams creating good chances to score. It was Bruern who managed to score first. Just before the half time whistle. Good play down the right from Alex D-B led to him firing in a fierce shot at goal. The shot was spilled and Teddy C-F was the first to react, tapping the ball into an empty net.

Sibford came out for the second half fired up and with the wind at their backs, it wasn’t long until they equalised. Bruern bounced back well and were able to take the lead midway through the first half, when captain Narayan B scored. Try as they might though, Bruern were unable to hold onto the lead and Sibford scored late on in the game. The score finished 2-2. On reflection, a draw was a very fair result.

Both teams played very good football at times. It was another impressive performed from all the Bruern boys involved, but man of the match this week goes to Narayan B who put in a real captains performance. Thank you again to the parents who came along to support, it means a lot to us all.
