The Bruern Prep Colts Green football team began the new academic year with an away fixture to Summer Fields. Having made the short journey down the A34 to Oxford we were met with familiar faces at Summer Fields, as well as an excellent turn out of parents to cheer us on.
The team started brightly with strong runs and passes from Bruern Prep. We maintained our energy throughout the first half and were rewarded with a goal from Jack P into the bottom left corner. We were caught up in the celebrations of our first goal on the season, when Summer Fields bounced back with an equally great goal.
As we entered the second half it was all to play for, and Bruern Prep approached the field with renewed focus. The boys played some great set pieces and showed maturity for such a new team. Overall, the team should be really proud of their first performance, despite the final score being 1-3 to Summer Fields, Bruern Prep showed excellent teamwork and we look forward to our next fixture.
