Football: Colts Green v Abingdon Prep [A]

In their first football game this half term, the Colts Green side put up a valiant effort and kept their heads held high throughout a tough match against a strong Abingdon Prep side. After conceding a few unfortunate goals, the boys began to link together well, particularly at the end of the first half and through the second, where they conceded far fewer goals than they had at the start! One particular highlight of the game from my point of view was an exciting and nerve-wracking set of goal line saves which involved 3 unsuccessful rebounds from the opposition, all saved by Zac V and Theo S, making diving and lunging efforts to keep the ball out.

The boys remained positive on what was quite a grey and challenging trip away and did credit to themselves and the school with the excellent standard of sportsmanship shown. Despite the loss, all boys played with a smile on their face and enjoyed the camaraderie and will look ahead to a great fixture next week. Well done boys!
