Bruern took to the road for their final game of the season where they took part in a triangular football competition against Moulsford and Oratory Prep. Having only had Tuesday to practice as a team the instructions for the day were simple - Play with a smile, work as a team and keep our structure.
Brilliantly led by James P the boys played their first game against Moulsford. The boys did their best to keep to the directives of the day and worked hard together to hold the creative Moulsford attack at bay. Hugo B defended superbly and Max D kept Moulsford out with some excellent saves. Matthew W ran the midfield with tigerish tenacity. For 3 quarters of the game Moulsford was held at bay however they eventually pierced the boys defence and won 3-0.
In the second game we played Oratory Prep and once again played with a lot of heart and even created a couple of chances for Archie WP to test the goalkeeper. Charlie C and Oscar D played excellently tackling and cutting off any Oratory Prep attacks. Quirin H and Finlay C showed plenty of pace down the wings with Ben B looking composed in goal. A draw seemed like a well deserved outcome however Oratory finally broke through twice at the end to win 2-0. However the boys enjoyed themselves thoroughly and for most of them it was a lovely way to sign off their sports career as juniors. Well done boys!
