On Wednesday afternoon, we had a set of fixtures away against New College. This was the first match of the season for The Colts Blue Team and actually, the first ever match at Bruern for 7 of the boys in the team.
We started the game well and played some lovely football. The match was very open with both goalkeepers making some important saves. Despite, threatening the opposition's goal on multiple occasions, we found ourselves 1-0 down at halftime. After a quick team talk, we took some water on board and headed back out to compete in the second half. Again, Bruern played some great football and looked dangerous on the counterattack. However, unfortunately, we fell just short and finished second to a strong New College opposition.
At the end of the match, every boy had a smile on his face, which is the main thing for me as a coach. All of the boys did themselves proud and I look forward to seeing this group of boys progress further throughout the rest of the year. Well done gents, have a well deserved rest this weekend!
