On Wednesday afternoon, the U10 B’s took to the Bruern home field for a game against Ashfold! Once again, Bertie T came very prepared with a football tactics board, so the boys were able to establish their positions early on for the match. Our captain this week was James G, who led the boys in a much needed warm up as the weather gods gave us grey skies and nipping winds! As always, James G had a beaming smile on his face which definitely encouraged the team to go out there, enjoy themselves and give it their best. Our defence was incredibly strong from the get go. Alfie M, our starting Goalkeeper, stopped numerous goals sliding in as well as Tristan H, who continuously got the ball out of the penalty area and to our midfielders, Benjie M, James G and Ralph W. Thanks to our striker, George G, we saw the ball in our half a lot more than ever before, including a few shots on target by our captain! The score board only read 1-0 to Ashfold by half time, which was all due to the boys battling efforts to continuously discourage Ashfold from getting further goals. Although the final score was 3-0 to Ashfold, the boys worked tremendously hard and enjoyed much deserved hot dogs after the match :)
