Cricket [Pairs]: Senior 3rd XI v Christ Church Cathedral [A]

On Wednesday afternoon, the boys and I were treated to a lovely game of cricket against Christ Church. The setting was picturesque, and the boys played some beautiful cricket.

The format was pairs soft-ball (each batting team would start on 200) and we decided to field first. Captain Archer F led from the front and got all the players focused and engaged. After a couple of overs, it was clear that Christ Church were going to be fairly weak. Nevertheless, our boys played their cricket in a respectful manner and had fun while doing so. Frank R was the standout player in the first innings as he picked up 3 wickets and took 3 catches. The rest of the wickets were shared out amongst the rest of the team, which was great to see. Christ Church finished their innings on 179.

After a quick turnaround, we were back out in the middle. Ben L and Aston B got us off to a great start, scoring 25 runs off of their 3 overs. Bruern continued to make good progress at the crease, and we were scoring lots of runs whilst losing very few wickets. Arki T top scored for Bruern with 20 runs off of just 8 balls including x3 fours and x1 SIX! The rest of the troops batted well and played some lovely shots. We finished 264 and won the game by 85 runs.

A lovely day out and I was very impressed with all the cricket that was on display. Well done all! Have a great weekend!
