Cricket: Colts A v New College [A]

There was a hint of Deja Vu about this week's fixture, Another short trip to central Oxford, another Beautiful Sunny day, and another cricket match full of promise and progression.
The opposition this week was New College, who like Magdalen last week, had a strong team with one or two exceptional cricketers. It was a mark of how far the boys have come in such a short period of time that 1. We took several wickets and 2. We didn't get bowled out!

We spent the first half of the match in the field, and due to some fantastic bowling by the opening pair, we restricted New College to just 18 runs from the first four overs. This theme continued throughout our bowling innings as we restricted them to 110/6 from 20 overs. A fantastic return against a good batting team, the focus for our bowlers next week will be to cut out as many wides and no-balls as possible.
The boys did very well in our batting innings and should be very proud of the fight they put in, but unfortunately, the target was always a little bit too big for us to put up a proper fight, for that reason we set ourselves a target of not being bowled out and with one wicket remaining we achieved this to further show the progress that has been made.

Well done to all players this week, have a lovely bank holiday and see you next week.
