The opening game of the cricket season was finally upon us; finger sandwiches, deckchairs and plenty of suncream taking over our Wednesday afternoons.
Game one played out as follows; We played host to Ashfold at our home from home BSA.
The boys were put in to bat and did a wonderful Job of getting up to 67 runs from our 20 overs, the bowling display was equally as promising as each of our opening bowlers took a wicket in their first over. As it was the first match, we took the decision to give all players the opportunity to have a bowl, and it’s safe to say they exceeded our expectations. They bowled with great accuracy and deserved more from the match. Unfortunately the match ended in defeat as Ashfold chased the target down with 7 overs to spare, that said we have plenty to build on and I look forward to seeing how far the boys can go in a short period of time.
