IAPS Ski Tournament

Last week six boys from the Lower and Upper Sixth took on the brilliant chance to compete in the IAPS ski championships 2023, Passo Tonale, Italy. It was the 10th Anniversary of the big event and Alex D-B, Bruno T, Max M, Xavi L, Luka M and Lucas D all slalomed down the slopes to gain some great qualifying times which set them up nicely for the parallel slalom, in which they bravely raced head to head with a competitor from another school. On Thursday they then faced the giant slalom - a time based race which was hotly contested throughout by the more than 17 prep schools involved. Unfortunately, Lucas D picked up an injury before the giant slalom, but made an excellent mascot for the team and patiently cheered on all of the boys in the team whilst they raced!
Whilst we weren't able to come away with any medals this time, the boys ski'd admirably well and demonstrated some brilliant speed and skill - they did themselves and the school very proud in effort, manners and spirit throughout. We really look forward to seeing some of these boys ski in next years championships and welcoming new skiers to the team too.
A very big well done to all from Mr Burns and Mrs Swift!
