On Wednesday afternoon, the senior school choristers and those boys who regularly read in chapel were invited to attend choral evensong at New College, Oxford, as a thanks for their canticular contributions at school. The service was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, and included music by Weelkes and Byrd to mark the 400th anniversary of their deaths. After the service, the boys headed for an early supper at the Turf Tavern, a veritable hidden gem of hostelries nestled next to the old city wall.
