John Floyd Bruern Abbey School

Prep

Bruern Abbey Prep School is well-established as the only prep school in the country that caters exclusively for boys diagnosed with learning difficulties.

The prep school is housed in a late Victorian, Italianate house with in excess of 20 acres of grounds including mixed woodland and specimen trees.  It is located a few miles from the A34 and the M40, it is just over an hour from London and 15 minutes from Oxford. The school is well-connected by train with two stations in the nearest town of Bicester. The prep school is a 20-minute drive from the Bruern Senior School site.

The school provides the perfect setting for boys to thrive and engage in a plethora of opportunities.

Academics are of paramount importance at Bruern Prep. Due to boys’ learning difficulties, they need to be taught in very specific ways to help them reach their full potential. However, we also give great consideration to everything else that goes on outside of the classroom.

The admissions process for Bruern Abbey Prep is thorough—reflecting the school’s small size and specialist approach—but it can be distilled into the five key stages outlined here.
