This week, our Upper Sixth (Year 8) pupils swapped classrooms for canoes, mountains, and a fair bit of mud at the Aberdovey Outward Bound Centre in Snowdonia. They threw themselves – quite literally – into a week of wharf jumps, canoeing, climbing, hill scrambling, and navigating high-ropes courses that tested both their courage and their balance.
Wednesday evening was spent in forest cabins and on the beach, where stories of the day’s adventures were shared (and blisters compared) around the campfire.
It has been a week full of laughter, teamwork, the occasional soggy sock, and countless opportunities to build resilience before heading off to senior school. A fantastic way to round off their time with us – and a trip they will not forget in a hurry!
