Bruern Art Selected for Young Art Oxford Exhibition

Congratulations to the 23 Bruern boys whose artworks have been selected to form part of the Young Art Oxford Exhibition 2020.

Across Oxfordshire 2,928 works of art on the theme of '2020 Vision' were submitted to the competition by children from Reception to Year 9, and only 600 were selected by the panel of well-known professionals and artists, so it is a great achievement for the boys to have their pieces chosen.

Below is a collage of their artworks, and you can view the full virtual exhibition by clicking on the poster lower down this page.

The boys whose pieces were chosen are: Henry W; George P; Daniel dB; Will D; Dylan L-L; Jack S; Oliver C-W; Hamish C; Harry D; Max E; Edward F; Archie J; Charlie S; Barnaby S; Oliver B; Noah B; Harry D; Finn D; Lucas G; Felix M; Arthur R; Max T and Charlie P

Each of them will receive a certificate, a programme and a keepsake from the exhibition sponsor Sporn Construction. In previous years the selected artworks have been put on display in an exhibition at the prestigious Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, but unfortunately this has had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and replaced with a virtual version.

The project also raises money for Cancer Research UK, bringing in over £150,000 for the charity since 2008. It is therefore a chance for children, who enjoy art, to help other children of their own age who are suffering from cancer, so we would encourage any donations.
